GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) _ The Campbell County Commission appears to
have exceeded its authority when it dissolved several county
boards.
A state Attorney General's opinion says the commission cannot
dissolve the county library board because state law requires that
and other boards.
The library board was among six boards the commission decided to
dissolve last fall, saying they were no longer needed.
Deputy County Attorney Carol Seeger says state law also requires
museum and parks and recreation boards that the commission sought
to dissolve.
On the other hand, Seeger says that boards for the airport, fair
and children's development services are not required and are OK to
be dissolved by the commission.
Commission Chairman Roy Edwards said the matter will be
discussed by the commission later this month.
