The storm wasn't around for long Thursday night but it sure will take a while for some people to recover. Some homes have been severely damaged others were a close call after an expected storm brought a surprise ending.

All-nighter gets 1880 Train back up and running |

The 1880 Train is back up and running again after its tracks were torn up Thursday in an accident. Some track crews went without sleep to make it possible, but Friday morning The Black Hills Central Railroad was up and running. Black Hills Fox Reporter Al Van Zee has the story.

School of Mines readies new paleontology building |

History is getting a new start at the School of Mines. A new paleontology building is slated to open at the end of the summer. It's the first time the upper Midwest's largest paleontology collection will be under one roof. A little tender, loving care is not in the cards.

Days of 76 parade stampedes down downtown Deadwood |

The old west came back to life Friday afternoon as the Days of 76 Parade stampeded down Deadwood's historic main street. This was the 88th year for the annual event and photojournalist Dave Kidd takes you there for a hoot hollerin' good time.

Hailstone that fell in Vivian a national record |

It's official. The giant hailstone that fell last week in Vivian is a U.S. record. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the hailstone found by a ranch hand near Vivian measured eight inches in diameter and weighed about 1.94 pounds, or about one pound 15 ounces.
