Julie Oberlander has always called the Black Hills home and has spent the past several years in Rapid City working to bring the best, most interesting and accurate news to family, friends and viewers around the region.

Julie was born and raised in Deadwood, S.D. She graduated from Lead High School in 1998 and then went on to study at Colorado State University, where she graduated with highest honors and a degree in Technical Journalism in May of 2002.

Julie joined the KEVN news team in November of 2002. Since then, she’s played many roles in the news department and has been recognized for her reporting skills three times by the South Dakota Associated Press. Julie became the weekday anchor at KEVN in February of 2005 and still enjoys taking her seat at the anchor desk every Monday through Friday. Now she also serves as co-executive producer of Black Hills FOX News at Nine.

When she’s not on television, Julie enjoys singing, playing the piano, reading a good book, swimming and skiing. She’s happiest when she gets to spend time with her family and is blessed to have a wonderful husband and the cutest golden retriever puppy in the world!

Julie feels privileged to have been able to begin her journalism career in the Black Hills, and she looks forward to many great stories to come.
