GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) _ Gov. Dave Freudenthal has signed a bill
that officially awards the city of Gillette $25 million for the
second water pipeline.
The money will be broken down into a $8 million loan and a $16.5
million grant.
The 42-mile long pipeline will bring water from the Madison
aquifer near Pine Haven to Gillette and other communities in the
region.
The project will meet the demand for water in Gillette's 30-year
growth forecast.
The total cost of the second pipeline is estimated to be $226
million, and the actual construction of the project should be
complete by 2016.
Freudenthal signed the bill Thursday.
