The Sturgis boys' basketball team earned just one win all of last season. But Tuesday night, the Scoopers were on the verge of capping off a remarkable turnaround as they are just one win away from a trip to the state tournament. Sturgis hosting Mitchell in a Region 2 play in game.

Out to the Civic Center where Red Cloud and Saint Thomas More locked it up for the sixth straight year in the Region.

Earlier Tuesday evening, Wall in action against White River for the 7-B title.

The State girls' basketball tournaments begin in two days and the Wall Lady Eagles are hoping for a big showing in Watertown.  The Lady Eagles soar into state as the fifth ranked team in the tournament and are set to square off against Summit in the first round.

The high school basketball season is down to its final two weeks. And the end of the Rapid City Rush's regular season is just around the corner as well. We're picking up steam with this week's edition of the FOX's Finest.

The Stevens girls' basketball team made its first state tournament in seven years with Saturday night's ten point win over Mitchell. Sunday the Raiders, along with the rest of the state's AA squads, learned their first round opponents.

If Stevens Raiders' head man Donavan DeBoer was still coaching in Class A, his season would be finished. His squad dropped the District Four-AA Championship on Thursday night. But the Raiders would have another chance at redemption: a win in Saturday night's Region 2 play-in game.

Also representing District Four at the Double-A State Tournament are the Central Cobblers.Central won its second straight District Four Title on its home court Thursday night. And while they still don't know their draw, the Cobblers like their chances.

The Central Cobblers have been cruising into the high school basketball post-season. Friday night, Coach Mike Purcell and company stood one game away from a trip to the State Tournament in two weeks here in Rapid City.
